Our calendars are simple to update, and sync up easily with your town’s meeting agendas.[/caption]At Town Web Design, we’re always looking for ways to make life easier for town clerks. One exclusive new feature that we’re certain will make things easier, is the option to have meeting agendas post automatically to the calendar page on the town’s website. These meetings are posted on your website’s public calendar, on the date that they are scheduled to take place. They also display a PDF icon with the name of the meeting. When clicked, this icon will take the visitor directly to the agenda for the meeting. This allows them to see, at a glance, exactly what’s planned. Here’s what the calendar looks like as it appears with the upcoming meetings. The arrows point to an agenda PDF. We were inspired to create this feature based off of feedback that we received from a couple of our customers, who were looking for a way to sync up their calendars with upcoming meetings. This feature makes it easy to include upcoming agendas on the calendar. With a few clicks in your website’s dashboard you’ll be able sync them up, making them easier for residents to find. Let’s look at a few benefits that this new feature offers both town clerks and residents.
Since the agenda can sync with the calendar, there’s no need for the clerk to spend time manually adding the meeting onto the calendar, and linking to the agenda. Instead, everything is done in the simple-to-use website dashboard, and can be completed in just a few clicks.
This system makes it very easy for residents to see the agenda. This will show them exactly what’s upcoming, allowing them to plan for the meeting in advance. If residents are able to see the agenda, they’ll be able to tell at a glance if there is any upcoming topics that are of interest to them.
Finally, having agendas available online in an easily accessible format improves transparency for open government. The agenda is easy to find, and it will clearly show which topics are open for discussion.
Syncing up the agenda with the calendar is a fast and simple process.
Simply head to your website’s dashboard, and navigate to the TWD Meeting Repository option. Then click ‘Add New.’
Title the meeting, choose the date, then, select a meeting agenda packet –or upload your own.
Then, select the meeting category that it’s in, and hit publish. The agenda will appear on the calendar, where visitors will be able to find them.
Another great feature that we offer is the ability for town residents to subscribe to the calendar. This means that when something is added to the calendar, the subscribers will be able to receive a notification informing them of the update. There’s also the option to be notified by text or email, allowing them to choose the channel that they prefer. They’ll also be able to unsubscribe whenever they’d like. One of the great things about this notification system is that residents can keep informed about news that’s important to them. When you publish the agenda, you’ll have the option to choose the category that it belongs under. Since residents will be able to subscribe to categories that are of interest to them, they’ll receive notifications about meetings that they’ve subscribed to, and will know when they are taking place.
